This is the third and concluding story in this romantic suspense trilogy and it is important to read the earlier two books to really appreciate this as the stories relate events in chronological order. They are all concerned with the search for the McGraw fraternal twins who were only six months old when they were kidnapped twenty-five years ago. Their father believes they are still alive and keeps them in the news every anniversary of their disappearance. This year the true-crimes writer, Nikki St James, has joined in the investigation and secrets start to be uncovered . . . . I’m desperately trying not to reveal what happens in the earlier books during this review . . . . Let it be enough to say that Nikki stirs things up, looks at things with her inimitable scrutiny and discoveries are made.

In this concluding story, Boone McGraw has travelled to Butte to speak to a PI who had been in touch with knowledge that had not been made public. When he arrives at the PI’s office he discovers the man he seeks has been killed in a hit and run car incident and that his partner, CJ Knight, has no idea about any connection to the McGraw kidnappings. She is convinced her partner was murdered and initially assumes Boone is wrong in connecting the two investigations. This is a dramatic, fast paced story – a real page turner that I couldn’t put down. With more murders, secrets, romance and family angst as well as conclusions, this is an enthralling read that I have no hesitation in highly recommending. I really hope that there will be additional books regarding what happened to the twins and giving them their own HEA, too!
