Somewhere to review books I'm reading without giving away any spoilers!

A Greek Affair by Linn B Halton

A Greek Affair

This story starts with a husband deserting his wife and two year old daughter, leaving them without warning but with a mountain of debts they knew nothing about. Jump forward seven years and that’s when the rest of the story takes place, focussing on that same mother, Leah, and her nine year old daughter, Rosie. They have started a travel blog together and are becoming well known for giving reviews of holiday destinations and travel products.

This is a heartwarming contemporary romance about facing up to fears, moving forward to find new friendship and romance when you least have expect it. However, don’t expect everything to go smoothly for anyone concerned. There’s more than one romance in this story where being honest with everyone is the key to a potentially happy future.  Rosie is a credit to Leah, a sparky, polite and friendly youngster, more mature than many nine year olds.

There are great descriptions of places they visit, people they meet and even food they get to eat. The whole journey is brought to life, with all the obstacles, secrets and worries along the way. There are special people to meet, including Leah’s parents, Harrison, Daniel and Bella. I particularly enjoyed reading about exploring Athens – I definitely want to go visit there again, especially after reading about some of the places Leah and Rosie get to visit there. This is a heartwarming contemporary romance that I enjoyed escaping into and hope you will, too.

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley. I chose to read it and this is my honest review after doing so.

More than just a holiday romance?

Her daughter, her job and divorcing her untrustworthy ex are Leah’s main priorities. She isn’t really bothered that her life might be missing a few things. But after winning a prestigious travel blogger award, she’s inundated with offers to review glamorous holiday destinations. Lying around drinking exotic cocktails and being paid for it! What could be better?

Perhaps a romantic trip to idyllic Greece to find the one man who might make Leah risk her heart again…
