WOW – a great thriller with romance interwoven in it, I really enjoyed this book! It is a superbly written roller coaster ride that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat from the very beginning.
Alex Northrop is a multilingual, highly rated art appraiser who is running for her life after seeing her cruel, domineering, criminal mastermind and art thief lover murder his sister and her boyfriend. Alex decides to get out whilst she’s still alive but knows he won’t let her go. She runs from France to England and ends up in Oxford. After seeing someone else murdered by Luc’s minions, she hides out at a party in a Professor Henry Chilton’s home. Now Henry isn’t a stereotypical professor – he’s a hunk, anthropologist, ex-military Earl, brilliant and sexy, too who lives with his half-brother, Simon. She has a superb eye for colours, style and technique so when she recognises that one of the paintings adorning the walls of his home is a fake, she tells Henry . . . . that’s when their of adventures and romance begin!
Changing her name, hair style and languages might mislead Luc but by venturing back into the art world she is leaving herself vulnerable to recognition and danger. Can she really help Henry without it costing her life? Who can she trust?
I highly recommend this brilliant, fast paced, thrilling book and will certainly be looking out for others by this author in future!
Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too, for letting me read this book in exchange for an honest review.
